COMPARATIVE PLACENTATION

Welcome! This Volume of animal placentas was created to assist with the examination and evaluation of the many different types of mammalian placentas. It is primarily directed to the veterinary pathologist, the zoo veterinarians and others who have an interest in understanding the bewildering variety of placental forms. When new placentas are added or new information comes about, the new data will appear at the bottom of this page.

I endeavor here to bring gradually all major animal species as I acquire the specimens.

This project has been and continues to be an ongoing labor of love. I trust that you will find this site to be a valuable resource.
